About

Anica Lora Nižić is a Croatian artist and illustrator based in Zurich, Switzerland. Her work moves between film, drawing, text, publication and research-based storytelling. Starting from personal traces such as places, images, memories and family stories, she explores how private histories are connected to political landscapes, archives and collective memory.

Her practice is shaped by questions of origin, belonging, language, migration and identity, with a particular focus on Croatia, the Balkans and the former Yugoslavia. She combines documentary observation with poetic narration, often blurring the line between fact and fiction.

She studied Illustration Fiction at HSLU Design Film Art in Lucerne and completed her Master in Art in Public Sphere at EDHEA in Sierre in 2024. She currently works as an artistic assistant in the Foundation Course at HSLU Design Film Art and as an illustrator in the editorial field.
